Day 0: Delhi To Bir Overnight Journey
Board HIMSUTA (VOLVO), Himachal Tourism bus from Delhi ISBT, if budget is not a constraint for you. Two of these bus services are available in the evening time.
For Budget Travelers: Take the bus from Kashmiri Gate ISBT in Delhi to Baijnath, there are multiple bus options (Ordinary, Semi deluxe, AC, etc) available. Once you reach Baijnath, you’ll have an option to take a local bus from there to Bir directly with limited frequency. If the bus is not available at that moment, you can take any bus going towards Joginder Nagar, reach ‘Bir road’ and then take a bus from that spot to Bir village. It takes half an hour to reach Bir, from Baijnath. The total journey time will be approx. 13-14 hours.
You’ll also have an option to hire a taxi from Baijnath to Bir, which may cost you around 300-400rs and bus fare is 20-30rs max.

Cost varies between 200/hr to 500/4 hrs, (do negotiate).
Day 02: Experience Paragliding
Paragliding is recommended either in the morning or evening time. You will get 20-25 minutes of paragliding ride at cost of 2000rs and an additional 500rs for GoPro video (optional). If you do paragliding in the morning then you’d have plenty of time to visit some less-explored places as well like Gunhed trek, a silent valley near to Bir village, or you can also explore other monasteries here.
You can terminate the journey and take a bus to come back home in the evening. But if you would like to extend one more day to cover another beautiful spot nearby, there is one more day plan for you.
Day 03: Bir – Barot – Bir
If you prefer riding a bike, rent a bike in Bir itself (do advanced booking a day prior) and visit a less-explored valley ‘Barot’, which is 60km from Bir. It takes almost 2 hours ride to reach Barot. Get lunch upon arrival and there you can experience angling, it’s a favorite spot for angling lovers for trout fishing. You’ll need to rent a fishing rod (in case you don’t have one), also will require a license from govt. (license will be arranged by the same shop who will rent you fishing rod).
Return Bir around 5 pm, now if you would like to continue the journey further – plan your next destination towards McLeodganj which is 75 km approx. from Bir or else board the direct bus for Delhi in the evening. Next Morning –Delhi. Cheers!
