Kappil Beach is a picturesque tourism spot near Varkala in the district of Kerala. Location at about 7 km away from Varkala, Kappil is a peaceful area with ample chances to relax and savor the beauty of nature, where the backwaters embrace the Arabian Sea.
Unlike other beaches of Kerala, this beach does not have much crowd and hence is a hidden gem. With a clean blue sea on one side and beautiful backwaters on the other, riding on Kappil Beach road is a delightful experience. This beach is a must-watch place for those who visit Varkala.
Since the beach is not popular, you will not find any restaurants or coffee shops nearby. The area will usually be quite crowded on Sunday evenings. The best time to visit the beach is September to May.
Kappil Beach is the perfect place to spend some time with families and friends in the evening. Even if the beach is not the famous one, you will come back to enjoy the backwaters and the sea once you visit it.
In 2019 the beach got a face-lift with the new projects coming in shape. The then tourism minister, Mr. Kadakampally Surendran, inaugurated the Kappil Beach beautification project. The project aims to promote water sport activities in the area. Now tourists can enjoy boating and other water-related entertainments at the beach.
