Munnar’s Culture
The people of Munnar either speak Malayalam (official language of Kerala) or Tamil. The culture of Kerala is found mostly in Munnar. Though English is not the official language, but some of the people can speak English too.
At present, English is also being taught in schools from the primary level.
Current Scenario
The Tourism government is taking lot of efforts to provide livelihood to the people of Munnar by increasing tourist numbers in the region.
Infrastructural development is also taking place in the region in terms of hotels, lodging which is also generating more employment opportunities.
Climate and best time to visit
Munnar experiences a moderate climate throughout the year. The best time to visit this place is from August to May. However the place has its own charm during monsoon. One can really enjoy the greenery of this place during monsoon.
August and September are ideal if one wants to enjoy the waterfalls. October to February is the ideal time to visit various places of attraction and a good time for honeymoon couples too. November is the best time for trekking and mountaineering.
Though, monsoon has its own charm, but people usually avoid going because of heavy rainfall.
Last but not the least; if you want to visit tea estate, March to May is the ideal time for that.
