Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary covers a vast area of over 490 sq. km and is spread over the districts of Chikmagalur and Shimoga. The beautiful view of the wildlife sanctuary looks like a scene from a movie with hills of the western ghats surrounding on all sides.
Flora and Fauna at the Sanctuary
The variety of the flora in Bhadra Wildlife sanctuary is spell bounding. The forest is mainly a mix of a dry deciduous forests. This forest nearly has a ceiling of green with over 120 species of trees. Dry Bamboo, Rosewood, Teak, etc., are just a few of the variety of tree species home to the distinctively unique wildlife in the sanctuary.
