This camel city is situated in the northwest of Rajasthan surrounded by a seven kilometer long embattled wall marked by five gates in the hot arid city. It is a rocky arid scrubland that embedding the story of medieval times.
Rao Bikaji with the help of Nehra Jats founded Bikaner in 1488 AD, the harsh desert surrounding the rich city. The town still preserves the aura of ancient time, beautiful architecture and craftsmanship.

The city is situated in the middle of Thar Desert and has a hot desert climate; the average temperature of the city during summers is 28-48.5 and 5-23 in winters.
The best time to visit Bikaner is in October to March.
