Haryana; a state associated on November 01, 1966 sub divided from the State Punjab on the basis of language and dialect. This North Indian state is one of the wealthiest states of India by GDP prospective. This state shares border with Indian states of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh in North and Rajasthan in West and South. The eastern border shares with Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh with a border line sketched by Yamuna River, also this state is the border state of Capital New Delhi. Along with sharing border, southern area of Haryana is also included in National Capital Region famously known as NCR.
Haryana has a glorious history. From being the center of Vedic Civilization and Indus Valley Civilization, this state has seen such most populous battles in the world like three battles of Panipat. Beyond these, this state has seen the biggest battle in the Earth; the epic Battle of Kurukshetra in Mahabharata.
Haryanvi is the most spoken language in Haryana. Punjabi and Hindi is the second and third most spoken language of this state respectively.
Haryana is mostly in northern plains. However the south part sees Aravalli mountain range and Shivalik hills to the NorthEast of this state. The plains are mostly semi desert sandy; however in monsoon carpet of grass can be seen in hilly areas. Thorny shrubs with dry, deciduous forest are found everywhere. Still this state is the shelter of more than 300 species of birds along with animals like fox, jackal, panther, nilgai, blackbuck etc.
Few cities of Haryana including Gurgaon, Ambala, Panchkula are the leading states in literacy rate above 74%, where Rohtak is known as the education hub of this state. The state government is taking initiatives to develop education system and providing facilities of free education in villages and mostly to women and children.
Haryana state is very well connected to other states of India by roadways, railways and airways. The 32 lane toll gate at National Highway 8 in Gurgaon is the largest in Asia and third largest in the world. There are total 29 national highways across state with many state highways.
If it’s about sports, it’s Haryana; this is the common saying in India. Haryana has gifted best players in variety of sports on national level as well as internationally. Athletes present India in any international events is mostly from this state.
